About Irvine Design

Edward Irvine

Ned Irvine is a graphic designer, artist, and educator with more than fifteen years of professional experience in New York City and Raleigh before establishing his practice in Wilmington, North Carolina in 2003. His work focuses on the design of printed publications, along with graphic identity, illustration, and environmental graphics for a range of commercial and cultural clients.


He holds a B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Graphic Design from North Carolina State University College of Design. Over a teaching career spanning more than 25 years, he taught design at the university level across North Carolina, concluding at the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2024, where he was named Associate Professor Emeritus. Today, he lives and works in historic downtown Wilmington.
